Farewell, 2013. You brought some great things, and you left me frustratingly stagnant in others. But I went to 15 movies this year and I’m finishing out the year with a trip to The Lion King. So I can’t complain. On to 2014! I enjoyed last year’s recap so let’s recap my 2013 favorite discoveries. Favorite Movie – Frozen I saw a lot of movies I really enjoyed this year, many that.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to as many new movies in one month as I did this November. It wasn’t a deliberate attempt to see so many movies, but it just happened. I had a conference in San Francisco the third week of the month and a quiet Thanksgiving this week. Both became a recipe for evenings at the movie theater. This month I saw: Thor: The Dark World.
Six years ago, I only watched Smallville weekly, with sporadic forays into Stargate: Atlantis and Burn Notice. That was it. With grad school, I found myself needing more television distractions, and my regular watching group has, well, grown extensively. So, here is what I’m watching and why I’m watching! Arrow – This show—is not very good, lol. I tend to stock up episodes and watch them in a marathon, which helps.
It’s always bittersweet when a favorite book series ends. In one respect, you’re glad the story is over. In another, you know you’re going to miss the characters you’ve spent books with. Though I was very excited for Ally Carter’s final Gallagher Girl book, I didn’t eat this one up as fast as I normally do. I found myself needing to savor it. Though I may not have read it.
